Course development and consultation update for Years 11 and 12 courses

We’ve listened, we’ve responded. The timeline for implementation of Tranche 1 of the redeveloped TASC-accredited courses has been revised.

Most courses developed in Tranche 1 will now be implemented in 2023.

This extension will allow more time for:

  • Input and feedback into the development and consultation process, including an extension of the Phase 3 consultation period for tranche 1 courses to 7 May 2021.
  • Schools to determine and communicate their 2022 and 2023 scopes and support learners transitioning from Year 10 to Year 11.
  • Years 9 to 12 Learning to work with schools, teachers and leaders on professional learning programs and resources to support the implementation of courses.

The decision to extend the consultation and implementation timeframes have been taken by the Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) in consultation with the Australian Education Union and Independent Education Union and the Office of Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification (TASC).

Please see the Years 11 & 12 website for more advice on course scopes for 2022.
