Years 11 and 12 Moderation

Years 9–12 Learning organise Moderation for Year 11 and 12 teachers. Teachers from Government, Catholic and Independent schools meet twice each year.

Moderation provides teachers with an opportunity to:

  • work on how to improve student learning outcomes
  • improve consistency of judgements.

This supports teachers to provide students with feedback to progress learning.

15 March 2022

The repurposing of Years 11/12 Moderation for Term 1 is part of the ongoing support for schools. (Years 11/12 March Moderation – Repurposing of Day).

Years 9-12 Learning are preparing draft Common Assessment Tasks (CATs) for moderated courses.

Optional online sessions are available to Senior Secondary providers to provide feedback on the draft CATs.

Future use of the CATs in schools may:

  • support teaching and learning
  • provide samples for September Moderation.

Note: There is no obligation for schools to use these CATs.

Optional Online Session Schedule

A schedule for the optional online sessions is now available.
VET DoE RTO validation sessions – will also be available.

Registration for these sessions closes on Friday, 11 March 2022.
