Recognised Formal Learning

The Department for Education, Children and Young People is the provider of the General Capabilities Short Qualifications and maintains quality assurance, recording of overall assessments and issuing of certificates to each student who successfully completes one or more of the General Capabilities Short Qualifications.

Recognised formal learning can form part of a Planned Program of Learning. It is either delivered through a structured program or has a formal assessment that leads to a qualification.

Recognised Formal Learning is recognised by the Office of Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification (TASC) and contributes towards the Tasmanian Certificate of Education
