The Tasmanian Ideas Lab is an enterprise-focused curriculum resource available for delivery to year 9 and 10 students. It is a collaboration between the Department for Education, Children and Young People, Brand Tasmania and Futures Isle.
This resource brings ‘Tasmanian Thinking’ into schools using an entrepreneurial lens. It supports young people to understand they can bring their passions to life in their community and career, right here in Tasmania.
Using local case studies from key Tasmanian industries, sectors and regions, it brings a Tasmanian context to delivery of the Australian Curriculum – Work Studies curriculum.
Year 9 – Help your community is based around the idea of social enterprise. It aims to empower learners to make a positive change in their community.
Year 10 – Side Hustle introduces learners to entrepreneurial thinking. It aims to guide learners through the steps to starting a small business venture.
Schools intending to deliver the Tasmanian Ideas Lab Resources are invited to complete a registration form.
Once completed, schools will be provided with access to a Community of Practice where the resources will be made available.
